Great article in The Economist about why people, especially in America, don’t believe in global warming. They cite psychological, economic, political, epistemological and metaphysical reasons with clever mixture of analysis and humour.
Really worth reading.
I also agree that we should move into a more positive, less divisive language.
Global warming and climate change for many people is a matter of belief, despite of science.
We need to move towards ‘good words’ such as innovation or opportunity. We should talk about investments and not about risks.
Nobody is opposed to energy efficiency or renewable technology, they are not political or belief issues, they are nice things.
